Il s’agit ici vraisemblablement de Anna Antonia de Nittis, veuve du capitaine français Duvaucey, maîtresse du baron Charles Jean Marie Alquier (1759-1826) et dont Ingres peignit le portrait en 1807 (conservé au Musée Condé, à Chantilly). David peint le Portrait du baron Charles Jean Marie Alquier pendant leur exil commun à Bruxelles (voir P. A. Coupin, Essai sur J.L. David, 1827). Le Portrait du baron Alquier par David sera représenté en vente au Musée en 1867 par Gauchez (voir dossier 1042).
